Photoshoot

Well, if it could be called that... Shradha and I took some photo's in town today for design. These are the crappy practise shots I took on my 8mpx digital camera which sometimes thinks it's a fish eye.
I have better (hopefully) pictures on my film camera waiting to be processed after my picture shoot with Lyndsey on Friday.

I've also researched the floors of the shopping mall and where things will be so I can start making my drawings for my maps.

These are the same 1st floor but they have details of hotels and food and leisure etc on.

Taken from the Westfield Stratford City website.

Really Unwell

Yeh, so the above says it all really. I got up this morning for a lecture and spent half an hour being sick instead of getting ready (needless to say I missed the lecture). When I did finally make it up from the bathroom floor I trudged down to the doctors only to have them tell me they're fully booked and I can't make an appointment for tomorrow, instead I will have to ring at 8 o clock tomorrow morning to make the appointment. I ventured over to attempt a digital media lecture which would have been interesting had it not been about the 1950s animation and all its head splitting sound tracks, I mean my head is imploding as it is and I had to leave half way through to continue my sickliness in a public toilet (ew).
But really I am here to clarify the work I still have to do mainly before Wednesday.
1. Write my proposal form for digital media
2. Take photographs of Shradha in town for design
3. Create a drawn "map" of Westfield Stratford City shopping centre

Update: On the fact I'm not well.
Here's a picture of a turtle that I took.

I made a game

in digital media today - You need a webcam. Make movement to keep your space ship moving to avoid the green aliens.
(nothing wrong with a bit of imagination)

well... it would be here, if I could work out how to upload an SWF

Week 2 development

I'm playing with after effects and using lights to try and create a 3D feel. From now I'm starting to look at Maya and how I can do what I want in actual 3D rather than in 3D space. Seems a shame to waste some of the stuff I've made already - the window and curtains I like the style of. So I might try and keep some of these in.

NEW DESIGN PROJECT

Semester B Design project 1/3

Create an integrated campaign driving awareness of the launch of west field stratford city as the new East London shopping destination.

So first thoughts are:
What's in East London? Isn't it bit of a dive?
Well, actually, the Olympics games are being held there... namely in Stratford. Strange when you think East London is the underdog compared to West London.

So, they want urban advertising?
What's more urban than graffiti? Can I use this in my work? Of course I can. This is Blob. He's a working progress.

Blob created in illustrator and photoshop

How do you combine these?!

What shops are there to inform the audience of?
Not unlike the sister shopping centre of Westfield London we have boutiques, main stream shops and restaurants. Can we make a 3D interactive map of these? If not a 2D leaflet make of the kind you get at theme parks, with details on where shops are and what restaurants and offers are available.

Ways of getting through to the audience?
Merchandise. My new plan to make t-shirts advertising Blob and Westfield Stratford City. Urban, teen, modern... targeting the gritty unique audience that has sprung up out of East London. NO SOPHISTICATION HERE, just design and individuality. SO everyone will be wearing the same shirt. In different colours. DONE.
I'm conducting a photoshoot in town, where each model will be dressed either in a edgy east london fashion or an upper class west London fashion. Everyone has a balloon (that will be branded in post production for ease in this project) and we engage with the audience. We grab their attention. These are positions.
